The Old English Sheepdog Club of Finland
I extend my sincerest thanks to the Old English Sheepdog Club of Finland for inviting me to judge your National Specialty. It was a stroke of brilliance when your club decided to have the Specialty follow the OES judging on Sunday of the World Show. That decision brought a wonderful entry of OES from 9 countries to your event. That same decision gave me the opportunity to judge dogs from all over Europe, not only Finland and nearby countries.
The planning and organization of all of the details that are necessary to have a great specialty were obvious. Wonderful prizes, lovely grounds and host hotel, and the committee making all of the exhibitors feel welcome. My ring staff, Miika and Vilhelmiina, were right on top of things and coached me through the class order and critique format. Please extend my warmest regards to them. The banquet setting was beautiful and the food was plentiful and delicious. Erno’s music was festive – he still has the voice! The congratulatory song for the winner was so much fun – I only wish we did something like that in the U.S. Oh, the dogs! Our kind and loving OES were in great form. The exhibitors all had clean, mat free dogs. While I could not award every one a placement in the show, they each were awarded a placement in my heart!
I wish the Old English Sheepdog Club of Finland much success with all of your future events. It was an honor and privilege to judge for you and again my thanks.
With my warmest regards,
Mary Anne Brocious
